Dr Matie Obazee is a 1980 Medical graduate of the University of Ibadan. He is a consultant family physician and Fellow of both the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) and the West African College of Physicians (WACP). He has been a trainer and examiner with both Colleges since 1991. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, (MBA), of the University of Benin, Nigeria and is an alumnus of Haggai Institute (for Advanced Leadership Training), Singapore.
Dr Obazee is the Medical Director/CEO of Echos Hospital, a multi-specialist hospital established in December, 1986 in Benin City. Echos Hospital is an accredited centre for management training for senior doctors undergoing postgraduate specialist training in Family Medicine in both NPMCN and WACP. He is a Visiting consultant to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba and Faithmediplex Hospital,Benin City and formerly to UBTH.
He is also the CEO of Zeemat Centre for Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development, an NGO with focus on capacity building and microfinance. He is Past President, World Organisation of Family Doctors, WONCA, Past Chairman, Faculty of Family Medicine, NPMCN and Past Chairman Trustfund Microfinance Bank, Benin City Nigeria. He is currently the District Coordinator,DC, of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International-Nigeria (FGBMFI) and a senior minister of Church of God Mission International, CGMI, at its Headquarter Church, Faith Arena in Benin City, Nigeria. He is seasoned and we’ll travelled public speaker. He is married to Dr Oyefemi Obazee, an ophthalmologist and they both have three adult children and grandchildren.
